In civil industry, nickel is often made into structural steel, acid resistant steel, heat resistant steel and a large number of machinery manufacturing.  Nickel can also be used as ceramic pigment and anticorrosive coating. Nickel-cobalt alloy is a permanent magnet material widely used in electronic remote control, atomic energy industry and ultrasonic technology.  

Nickel is often used as hydrogenation catalyst in the chemical industry.

If power failure causes parking, feeding should be stopped;  In case of power failure during feeding, feeding should be stopped, vent valve should be opened, and water supply should be cooled.  * When stopping, the residual liquid in the nickel reactor should be cleaned, and the bottom valve, feed valve, steam inlet valve and discharge valve should be closed.
